What kind of work do you do?

Currently, I work as a back-end engineer at Money Forward Vietnam, where I am responsible for developing, maintaining, and operating our product to ensure its smooth functioning and high availability. Working alongside a mixed team of Vietnamese and Japanese engineers, we collaborate to find the best solutions for the product.

Our team follows a "Globalization" approach, which requires communicating in English. Although it is my first time working with Japanese engineers and communicating primarily in English, I am confident that we will improve and overcome any misunderstandings.

Having worked at Money Forward Vietnam for six months, I find it to be an excellent place to continue honing my skills and growing professionally.

What is your most important policy in your work?

"Good Communication"

Communication skills involve listening, speaking, observing, and empathizing. It's also helpful to understand the differences in how to communicate through face-to-face interactions, phone conversations, and digital communications, such as email and social media.

Moreover, MFV is applying a hybrid working model, and we usually have online meetings. Therefore, good communication will help me:

- Deeply listen to understand what other people are saying.
- Avoid misunderstandings and ensure that we are on the same page.
- Easily share solutions or issues.
- Save time during each meeting.

In the workplace, good communication is essential for building and maintaining relationships, working collaboratively, and achieving common goals. It aligns with Money Forward Vietnam's slogan "Let's make it together!"

What has made you happiest recently in your work?

I am proud to have been part of the team that successfully released major features.

Our team is composed of talented Vietnamese and Japanese engineers, working together to deliver value to our users.

Through our daily interactions, I have come to know each team member's personality, and I am grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with such a diverse group of individuals.

I look forward to achieving more great things together in the future.

Ryohei Suzuki (Su)　Money Forward Vietnam
Su is an Engineering Manager who is proficient in both English and Vietnamese. During meetings, he is quick to clarify any misunderstandings and ensure that both Vietnamese and Japanese engineers are on the same page. In many ways, Su serves as a bridge between the two teams. His ability to communicate effectively and navigate cultural differences is a valuable asset in this globalized workplace. I am eager to learn more about his experiences and insights.

Nim は Money Forward Vietnam のエンジニアです。
彼は MFV のメンバーをリードする存在であり、 日本のメンバーからは "Nim 兄さん" と呼ばれる良きムードメーカーでもあります。
個人として高い能力を持つだけでなく周囲のメンバーへの気遣いも忘れない彼は、チームにとっていつも頼りになる存在です。

Nimさんのお仕事は？

私はMoney Forward Vietnamのバックエンドエンジニアとして、プロダクトの開発、保守、運用を担当し、円滑な機能性と高い可用性を確保する仕事をしています。ベトナム人と日本人のエンジニアがいるチームで働きながら、プロダクトに最適な解決策を見つけるために協力しあっています。

私たちのチームは、まさに「グローバル化」が進んだチームで、英語でコミュニケーションしています。日本人のエンジニアと一緒に仕事をするのも、主に英語でコミュニケーションをするのも初めての経験ですが、たとえ何か認識が違うことがあったとしても、みんなで改善しそれを乗り越えていけると信じています。

Money Forward Vietnamで働きはじめて6ヶ月になりますが、自分のスキルを磨き、プロフェッショナルとして成長し続けるための素晴らしい環境だと感じています。

仕事で1番大切にしていることは？

「良好なコミュニケーション」を心がけています。

コミュニケーションスキルには「聞く」「話す」「観察する」「共感する」などがあります。また、対面でのやりとりや電話での会話、メールやソーシャルメディアのようなデジタルコミュニケーションなど、コミュニケーションの取り方の違いも理解しておく必要があります。

さらに、Money Forward Vietnamはハイブリッドワーキングモデル（オフィスワークとテレワークの併用）を採用しており、普段はオンラインでミーティングを行っているんです。そのため、コミュニケーションを上手にとることは、仕事のしやすさにもつながります。

例えば

- 相手の話を深く聞き、理解する
- 誤解を避け、同じ組織の仲間だということを意識する
- 解決策や問題を気軽に共有する
- 会議の時間を短縮する

といったことですね、

職場における良好なコミュニケーションは、人間関係の構築と維持、共同作業や共通の目標達成のために不可欠です。それは、Money Forward Vietnamのスローガン "Let's make it together!" に込められたメッセージにも通じます。

最近仕事で1番うれしかったことは？

チームで、主要な機能のリリースを成功させたことです。私はこのチームのメンバーであることが、とても誇らしいです。

優秀なベトナム人と日本人のエンジニアが集った私たちのチームは、ユーザーに価値を提供するために協力し合っています。

日々の交流を通じて、お互いの個性を知り、多様なメンバーと協力する機会を与えてくれたことに感謝しています。

スーは、英語とベトナム語が堪能なエンジニアリングマネージャーです。会議では行き違いがあれば訂正し、ベトナム人エンジニアと日本人エンジニアが同じ方向を向いていることを確認するのが彼の役目です。いろいろな意味で、スーは、ベトナム人エンジニアと日本人エンジニアの橋渡し的な役割を担っています。文化の違いを乗り越えて効果的にコミュニケーションをとる彼の力は、グローバルな職場環境において貴重な財産だと思います。彼の経験や見識について、もっと知りたいと思って推薦しました。
