添谷さんのお仕事は？

マネーフォワードケッサイ株式会社（以下MFK）で、開発組織とコーポレート組織（管理本部・社長室）のマネジメントをしています。

開発組織においては、チームの皆さんに最大限のパフォーマンスを出していただくために問題を取り除くエンジニアリングマネージャーのような動きに加え、MFK全体のコーポレートITの管理・運用をおこなっています。

コーポレート組織では、社長室で採用をはじめとするHRBPの役割をマネーフォワード People Forward本部と連携しながら担ったり、管理本部としては経営企画と日々のオペレーションの効率化をおこなったりしています。

エンジニアリングのバックグラウンドを持ちながらコーポレート部門も見ることで、あらゆる方法で事業を前に進めていくのが私の仕事です。

仕事で1番大切にしていることは？

「事業を前に進めること」を1番大切にしています。

嬉しいことに、共に進む仲間やユーザーの皆さまに恵まれているな、と感じています。

事業を前に進めることが、関わっていただいているステークホルダー全員が幸せになる方法だと思い、日々の仕事に取り組んでいます。

一歩ずつ着実に前に進むことで、マネーフォワードのビジョン『すべての人の、 「お金のプラットフォーム」 になる。 』そして、MFKのビジョン『企業間取引の決済インフラになる。』を実現したいと思います。

最近仕事で1番うれしかったことは？

私はMFKに異動する前、マネーフォワードのベトナム法人 Money Forward Vietnamの立ち上げをおこなっていました。先日、ベトナム法人立ち上げ時に共に働いていた現地のメンバーが出張で東京オフィスにやってきたんです。

そのメンバーは数年前に、日本のマネーフォワードで英語を話す人が増えると直接コミュニケーションできるので、いつか日本出張に行きたい、と言っていました。

時が過ぎ、マネーフォワードの開発組織をはじめとした英語化が進み、コロナによる状況の変化もあり、ついにその出張が実現しました。

彼と話していた事が実現したこと、そしてベトナム法人立ち上げ初期に加わってくれた彼が今も活躍し、お互い当時とは異なる新しいミッションを持って再会できたことをとても嬉しく思いました。

Relay Interview vol.10 Shota Soetani, Executive Officer, Money Forward Kessai

In the "Relay Interview" series, Money Forward members answer questions and pass the relay baton along to the next person.

This time, the baton has been passed to Shota Soetani, Executive Officer of Money Forward Kessai, a Money Forward Group company.

What kind of work do you do?

I manage the development organization and the corporate organization (Management Department and CEO Office) at Money Forward Kessai, Inc. ("MFK").

In the development organization, I act as an engineering manager, focusing on eliminating problems to enable all team members to deliver their best performance. Additionally, I manage and operate corporate IT for the entirety of MFK.

In the corporate organization, I work with the People Forward Department in the role of HRBP, which includes recruiting. Also, I work with the Corporate Planning Department to streamline daily operations at the Management Department.

My job is to move the business forward in every way possible as I have an engineering background but also oversee corporate divisions too.

What do you find most important in your work?

My top priority is 'moving the business forward'.

I feel blessed to have colleagues and users who are moving forward together with me.

I am dedicated to my daily work, firmly believing that moving the business forward is the key to ensuring the happiness of all stakeholders involved in our business.

By moving forward steadily, step by step, I would like to achieve both our visions: Money Forward’s of “To be a financial platform for everyone", and also MFK's vision of "To be the payment infrastructure for business-to-business transactions”.

What has made you happiest recently in your work?

Prior to my transfer to MFK, I played a role in establishing Money Forward Vietnam, which serves as the Vietnamese legal entity of Money Forward. The other day, a local member who had been working with me to establish the Vietnam office came to the Tokyo office on a business trip.

He said several years ago that he would like to go on a business trip to Japan someday, because if there were more English speakers in Money Forward in Japan, he would be able to communicate directly with them.

As time went on and Money Forward, including the development organization, became more English-speaking, this trip was finally realized, in part due to the changing pandemic situation.

I was thrilled to see that what we had discussed earlier had come to fruition. It was delightful to see that he, who had joined me in the early days of setting up the Vietnamese office, is still playing an active role today. It was a wonderful opportunity to meet him again, now embarking on a new mission that differs from our past endeavors.

Midopeki-san and I are often involved in recruitment-related matters. Her team is responsible for recruiting operations, including communicating with candidates who have expressed interest in Money Forward and arranging interviews and interview schedules.
