Statement

We created this DEI Statement as an interactive starting point so that we here at Money Forward can continually review how we approach DEI, as well as so that we can create a future where we all leverage our abilities and strengths to create greater value as a group.

01
All people as individuals have values that we hold dear, and different ways we judge what is right. How we think and what we value all depend on where we come from, our cultural background, our experiences, what information we have encountered, the people we have known… All these aspects combine to inform how we see the world, which is unique to each of us.
Therefore, it is important to keep all of this in mind when we interact with others, and realize that the people around us are all coming from particular mindsets that will inherently differ from our own.
It is easy to create detailed rules to avoid conflict when it comes to values; “Don’t do X”, “Avoid Y”, etc. But too many rules can create distance between people, and can lead to others feeling left out.
Rather than being bound by strict rules, we believe that we are capable of uniting as colleagues with mutual respect and understanding, and that these will guide us to internalize our DEI values as a whole.
To do this, we here at Money Forward Group will continue to examine ourselves by pinpointing our own presumptions and prejudices, and by accepting the diverse viewpoints that each individual member brings to our group.

02
Speaking up to share your thoughts requires courage. However, mutual understanding can only come from communication that builds strong ties between people; in turn, those ties create an environment where everyone’s abilities can shine. This idea forms the basis for Money Forward’s philosophy of “co-creation”. Together, we can co-create a workplace where we all contribute in important ways to bring value to our users and our colleagues.
We vow to strengthen our efforts to speak courageously and maintain strong communication across our entire group.
